A leaf becomes a symbol of birth or rebirth in my painting.  A house cat is transformed into a day dreaming, adventuress blue cat which I try to capture in clay.

As a teacher, I am always surprised at the wonderful creativities of my student.  My job is to nurture this creative energy, introduce them to new mediums and techniques and to encourage them to share their art with others.  My favorite teacher once said, “Artist shares not only their vision, but their kindness”.  Art making after all can be as simple as a smile.
